Nunavut

Registration Fee

Nunavut doesn’t charge a land transfer tax, but like the Northwest Territories, it does collect registration fees.

For properties under $1 million, you’ll pay $1.50 per $1,000 (minimum $60). For properties above that, the fee is $1,500 plus $1 per $1,000 of the remaining value.

Mortgage registrations are $1 per $1,000, with a minimum of $40. While there’s no rebate for first-time buyers, Nunavut’s fees are predictable and easy to calculate.
